A Big Week
So I’m presenting my first talk on The Black Girl Next Door, this Sunday at Mixed Magic Theater Company in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. I am thrilled and daunted all at the same time, which seems like my default state in the process of creating this book.
I’m still working on the talk and am hoping that it will be useful and somehow engaging to an audience who hasn’t read the book. I’m thinking of reading a selection from the book and then talking about my journey to and through the project.
This week, the copy edited version of the book is supposed to come back to me. I have roughly two weeks to review and implement the changes and get it back to the press.
I am also contemplating next projects as I ask myself what I want to write in relation to what kind of life I want to live. I know these are big questions, but I feel compelled to ask them.
So, I’ll share my work on the talk this week, my thoughts on the copy edit and my musings on what’s next….

Hey good luck!!! I like the way you’ve organized the presentation. i also like you’re idea of thinking about writing projects in relation to the life one desires to live. You know I’ll be cheering on Sunday from CT. Un gran abrazo

Your talk will be fine. You could read from the yellow pages and it would be fascinating!
I am with Cam…I am cheering for you from my hood!
